Switching Devices? Start With the Right Workspace

Overlapping portrait and landscape screen outlines surround one open folder on a muted green background.

Same account, but where did the conversation go?

You prepared a video script on your Mac and want to review it on your iPhone after leaving. You sign in to the same Lumo account, but cannot find the conversation. Before starting again, check which workspace you opened.

Your account lets you sign in and use the service. The workspace determines where a task runs and which files it can access. To continue existing work on another device, return to its original workspace.

If the work is on your Mac, connect to that Mac

Local Mac and Remote Mac both lead to your Mac; the connection method differs.

  • •Local Mac works when the phone or tablet and Mac can reach each other on the same local network. A matching Wi-Fi name alone does not guarantee that devices can communicate.
  • •Remote Mac connects to your Mac while you are away. The computer must stay running, with remote access and a working connection. Signing in on the phone does not mean it has connected to the computer.

If the script began on your Mac, connect to that Mac and reopen the original conversation. You can continue with the material and files it can access. While travelling, review progress and answer pending questions; leave detailed checks for a suitable screen.

Use Cloud Agent for new work that does not depend on local files

Cloud Agent has a separate cloud workspace. It can run tasks without keeping your Mac on, making it suitable for work started on mobile that does not need direct access to Mac files.

For example, provide a prepared event description and ask for several video openings. Start in the cloud and continue in that same cloud workspace. If the task needs footage stored on your Mac, signing in will not bring it into the cloud. Connect to the Mac, or deliberately provide the required material to the current workspace.

Check progress before deciding what to do next

Once you find the conversation, check whether the task has finished or needs an answer. After a connection interruption, confirm that the Mac and network are available, then inspect the conversation. Avoid starting the same task again just because its result is not immediately visible.

When editing, distinguish text still in the editor from a saved file. Once saving is complete, reopen the file and check the final wording before handing it over. Dates, names and publishing destinations still need your review.

Start with a small task

Try these three steps with a product description that is not due for delivery:

  1. 1.Start on Mac. Give Lumo the description and ask for two short-video openings. Note the conversation title or latest reply so you can find it later.
  2. 2.Continue on your phone. Connect to the same Mac through Local Mac or Remote Mac. Open that conversation and check that both openings are there. Then ask: “Keep the second direction and shorten the opening.”
  3. 3.Check back on Mac. Open the same conversation and review the revised wording. If you saved it to a file, reopen that file too, rather than relying only on the reply in the conversation.

The goal is simple: find the same work on another screen and continue with its existing context.
