Cover artifacts

The video-cover-generator Skill outputs a cover-editor JSON artifact. Lumo detects the payload and opens it as an editable cover surface instead of plain JSON.

What you can edit

The cover editor supports canvas size, aspect presets, zoom, layers, text layers, background layers, visibility, position, colors, and export. Use it to keep cover structure, visual subject, headline, and export review in one place before publishing.

Images and subjects

You can drop an image into the cover canvas as a subject layer. The image is added as-is, so photos with clean or solid backgrounds work best. AI-generated stickers usually arrive ready to place.

Export

Cover editor artifacts are reviewable inside Lumo. Export PNG only after you have checked text hierarchy, crop, platform ratio, and visual subject.

Treat generated covers as editable drafts. Final publishing visuals still need human review.

Choose the target ratio first

Before editing text and layers, decide whether the cover is for a horizontal video, vertical clip, or square/social preview. The same headline and subject may need different crop, scale, and safe area across YouTube, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, TikTok, or other channels.

Keep the cover brief close to the script

The best cover prompt usually comes from the same brief as the script: viewer pain point, central promise, visual subject, emotional angle, and one short headline. If the cover feels disconnected, return to the script Artifact or calendar entry and ask Lumo to derive a tighter cover direction.

Review text like a thumbnail, not a poster

A cover may look fine at editor size but fail as a thumbnail. Check whether the headline survives small size, whether the subject is recognizable, whether contrast is clear, and whether platform UI will cover important text.

Use generated visuals as structure

Generated cover Artifacts are most useful for quickly forming layout, hierarchy, and subject direction. Before publishing, replace weak source images, correct text, adjust crop, and export only the version that matches the actual content.
