The API key was always the annoying part
Lumo runs on top of Claude. But for a lot of creators, the very first step — go to some platform, create an API key, add a card, watch your usage — is a wall before you've made anything.
Lumo Cloud is how we take that wall down.
Sign in, subscribe, and the AI just works
In the public release, Lumo's core AI runs on Lumo Cloud. You sign in with a Lumo account, pick a plan, and you're working — there's nothing to request, paste, or maintain. Usage runs on your plan, so you always know where you stand.
Your Mac workspace remains local
For the Mac workspace described in this launch post, projects, assets, and drafts live on your own machine. Content you send to AI is processed through the service.
Update — September 28, 2026: Lumo also offers a separate Cloud Agent workspace on iPhone and iPad. Material you choose to use there is processed by Lumo's cloud infrastructure and the selected AI services. Learn how Cloud Agent works.
What each plan gives you
- •Free — a starter AI budget, enough to get your workflow going.
- •Pro — more usage, plus AI media (covers, read-aloud voice, subtitles).
- •Max — 4× the usage of Pro, for heavy, professional creators.
Choose a plan from your Lumo account, then use the browser-based Stripe checkout and billing portal to subscribe, change, or cancel.
